Great Barrier Reef

Bundaberg is the southernmost point of the Great Barrier Reef with ready access to both Lady Elliot Island and Lady Musgrave Island. Both islands are coral cays, with abundant wild life.

Take advantage of their proximity to view the reef from glass-bottomed boats, or while snorkelling in the crystal clear waters. Mon Repos Turtle Rookery

Mon Repos near Bundaberg has the largest and most accessible mainland turtle rookery on Australia’s east coast. Loggerhead, Flatback and Green turtles come ashore to nest from November to February, with hatchlings appearing 6-8 weeks later (January till March). The visitor centre has masses of turtle information and runs guided walks along the beach from November till late March.
